Guest Reviews of 2 Victoria Cottages, Bakewell
- A fabulously located, spotlessly clean and well equipped little Derbyshire bolt hole. 3minute walk to Bakewell, 5mins to the local taproom and never more than 30mins away from a walk. Great power shower, spotlessly clean, everything you need for a break away. And cake. Fabulous lemon drizzle.
Bakewell is a great base for the Dales and has lots to offer.
The parking is a bit hairy if you have a larger car/Suv but not impossible.Monica28/07/22A great place to stay to explore both Bakewell and the Peaks. A cosy cottage to stay not far from the town centre, with a wide range of bus routes to venture out to other places, such as Chatsworth House and Monsal Dale. The two-tiered terrace is perfect for enjoying the summer afternoon or having breakfast in the morning. Jenna is a lovely host, providing us with clear communication and information on ways to explore the Peak District.Matthew22/07/22 - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage was everyhting we expected and hoped it to be...and more. Some lovely touches by Jenna upon arrival, including fresh milk, eggs and other food provision, topped off by a sizeable and somewhat irrestistable lemon drizzle cake!
Whilst the steps up and down from the car can seem a challenge initially, the early evening drinks and views across the hills at the well appointed table on the top tier make them worthwhile.
High spec accommodation in a great location...and with 2 high-quality restaurants (Piedaniel's and Lovage by Lee Smith) within 5-6 minutes walk, we will be returning, hopefully soon.Steve18/07/22Great small cottage in an easy location for the centre of Bakewell.
Friendly welcome and all the facilities you could need. Lovely terrace at the top of the garden for breakfast with views over the town.
Bakewell is a good base for walking in the Peak District, with shops, pubs and restaurants.Tim11/07/22 - Lovely cottage ideally placed for Bakewell and local walks. Should note that there are 2 sets of steep steps at the rear of the cottage when entering on the first day to use the key pad - after that not a problem as the front entrance is on the level. We loaded the car at the front on departure.Karen21/06/22A great base to explore Bakewell and the woder area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Jenna generously provided milk, fresh eggs and a lovely cake upon our arrival which was much appreciated. The property provided everything to make it a home from home. Thanks Jenna.Kevin06/06/22
- We had a lovely week long stay, the cottage is perfectly located for exploring Bakewell & the surrounding Peak District area. The cottage was well equipped & clean. Very comfy bed with a spacious bathroom. The Lemon Drizzle cake was a lovely touch. The only negative is the parking, we have a large SUV and it was a struggle parking as the road up to the parking space is a steep incline and narrow. You don’t have a lot of room to manoeuvre. We think this should have been explained more clearly for those who are driving. Other than that we have no problem in recommending this cottage for other visitors.Louise14/05/22

We had the best stay at No 2. The cottage is super clean and very well equipped for two. It is well placed for a short stroll into town and local attractions (we did the Monsanto trail). If the weather is good you will love the terrace for a glass of wine and lovely views. The shower room is great and the bed very comfy! We really appreciated the cake, eggs and milk on arrival.
